Portuguese floor tiles come in all shapes and sizes, colors, and patterns. But what about the prices of Portuguese tiles? Below is a brief explanation of the factors that influence the price of these patterned tiles.

1. Dimensions of the Portuguese tiles

Firstly, the price is determined by the dimensions of the cement tiles. The most standard size is 20×20 cm. Each patterned tile is handmade, and 25 of these tiles must be produced per square meter. Therefore, these are generally the least expensive Portuguese tiles.

There are also patterned tiles in sizes 14×14 cm and 15×15 cm, as well as 7×17 cm and 7×7 cm. So the smaller the tiles, the more expensive they are. A 14×14 cm Portuguese tile contains 50 tiles per square meter. That’s twice as many tiles as a 20×20 cm Portuguese tile.

2. Number of colors per Portuguese tile

Another important factor determining the price of Portuguese tiles is the number of colors per design. Making a single-color tile is the easiest; making a cement tile with 6 or 7 colors is much more difficult. Moreover, the error rate during the production process will be higher. A different color will have to be used each time, and it’s important to prevent the various color mixtures from hardening. They must remain fluid to be easily poured into the mold.
